Momentum terms and conditions

Momentum and its employees respect your privacy.

Momentum voluntarily subscribes to the principles set out in Section 51 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (under its Privacy Policy) to make sure that you are always protected when supplying us with personal information.

Momentum's Privacy Policy:

  • Momentum will not collect, collate, process or reveal your personal information without your permission, unless we are legally required to do so.
  • We will only electronically request, collect, collate, process or store your personal information if it's lawful for us to do so.
  • If we need your personal information, we will disclose the reason to you in writing. In addition, we will not reveal your personal information for any purpose other than the one we inform you of. We will also not give your personal information to a third party without your consent, unless we are legally required to do so.
  • We will keep a record of your personal information for the purpose it is intended.
  • We will make every effort to make sure that your personal information is kept confidential and secure, by storing it on our secure database.
  • We keep all recorded financial information strictly confidential. This means that we will not disclose this information to any third party that has no right or title to it.
  • We take reasonable and necessary precautions to secure your transactions on our website - however, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of your transactions.
  • Using this website is entirely at your own risk.
  • Momentum will not be held legally responsible for any personal information that you reveal to a third party, which has a link on the website. It's important that you refer to that third party's privacy policy before you reveal any of your personal information.
  • The Momentum website may make use of cookie and tracking technology, where information that you send while on the website, is saved on your hard drive. This allows the Momentum website to recognise you on your next visit. This technology is useful for gathering information, such as the type of browser and operating system you use. The information will enable us to track the number of visitors to our website and understand how visitors use it. Personal information cannot be collected via cookie technology.
  • Momentum may use your information for marketing purposes within Momentum and may send you promotional material or information that may be of interest to you.
  • This privacy policy may be amended from time to time without any notice to you. Every time you use our website, you are automatically bound to the privacy policy that is current at that moment.
Campaigns and Competitions

For more information about any of our competitions, or the terms and conditions that apply to them, please email us at

  • The promoter of this competition is MMI Group Limited (hereinafter referred to as "Momentum").
  • If you enter one of Momentum's competitions, you agree to these terms and conditions.
  • To qualify to enter this promotional competition you must be:
    • a South African citizen or permanent resident in the Republic of South Africa;
    • 18 years and older
  • Each competition works differently, and starts and ends at different times; so the results depend on the specific competition rules, terms and conditions. Momentum will not accept any late entries.
  • Momentum will announce the name of the prize-winner three working days after the competition closes. We will notify winners as specified for each competition. If, for whatever reason, we cannot get hold of you within three days of the first draw to let you know that you have won, we will conduct another draw and select a new winner from the remaining entrants
  • Directors, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers or sponsors of Momentum, its affiliated companies and/or agencies or members of their immediate family may not enter competitions unless otherwise specified. Separate terms and conditions will apply to staff competitions.
  • The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, may not be redeemed for cash, and if it is not taken up for whatever reason; it may be forfeited, a separate draw may take place, or it may be allocated to another winner, at Momentum's discretion.
  • Momentum reserves the right to terminate any competition immediately and without notice, if required by the Minister of Trade and Industry, the National Consumer Commission, or for whatever other reason. In the event of this happening, participants agree to waive any rights they may have in this competition, and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Momentum or its agents.
  • Momentum, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage, indirect or consequential, arising from an entrant's participation in this promotional competition, regardless of how it happens (whether from negligence or otherwise). The prize winner indemnifies Momentum for any loss, damage, harm or injury(whether arising from negligence or otherwise) that may be made against Momentum by any third party(including but not limited to suppliers or any other third parties) in connection with this promotional competition and the accompanying terms and conditions.
  • Momentum is not liable if any technical element relating to this promotional competition fails; including, but not limited to, instances where emails are not received, or not received on time.
  • In the event of a dispute about any aspect of this promotional competition, or its terms and conditions, Momentum's decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Any violation or attempt to violate any of these rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the participant.
  • A copy of the competition rules will also be made available at Momentum’s head office.
