Taking Momentum Health on the road

Part of the recent Momentum DNA of financial wellness partnership forums that kicked-off on 21 July in Polokwane, Momentum Health was profiled because of its unique approach to healthcare.

As the third largest open scheme in South Africa, offering healthcare to more than 110 000 families, the Momentum Health medical scheme strongly focuses on providing clients with flexible products that are underpinned by service excellence and this sets them apart from any competitor.

In fact, over the past five years the Momentum Health administrator has been placed among the top three medical scheme administrators in the PMR survey, demonstrating its consistency in delivering excellent service.

From a sustainability point of view, Momentum Health has managed to grow solvency levels to 31% at the end of 2013 with a healthy membership pool and the average age of principal members being 42.6 years compared to the industry average of 45. Head of Momentum Health Sales and Marketing, Damian McHugh commented by saying "Momentum Health’s product design has remained very stable over past years while the favourable membership demographics have continued to contribute to clients' positive claim experiences".

McHugh has however highlighted the fact that "the world is changing as a result of diversified client needs and this calls for adjustments in the financial advice process. Due to our dedicated focus on client-centricity that now defines the purpose of the organisation, part of Momentum's sustained success lies in understanding our clients changing needs and to cater for this by offering tailored solutions that will enhance clients' financial wellness from a holistic point of view".

In reality, client preference towards Momentum Health is evident through the increased uptake in complimentary products such as Momentum’s HealthSaver. This is as a result of a client-centric focus that offers affordable yet modern healthcare products which includes Momentum Health ensuring that operational costs are managed and maintained at acceptable levels.

McHugh concludes by saying that "Momentum Health’s focus will remain on creating innovative health solutions that is designed specifically with client requirements in mind. We make it our business to ensure that client claim experiences remain positive and even exceed expectations".
